Maaria Assami is an information designer living in Chicago. She is partner at kufic+grid Design Studio which she co-founded in 2019. kufic+grid Design Studios worked on several information design related jobs including annual reports, infographics, data visualizations, and much more. She was also involved in other projects like designing the packaging for Sit Beit, meal kit pouches that are sold in the Gulf Region. Earning her undergraduate degree in Media Communications in Northwestern University, she won acclaim as director for her short documentary film, Bader, which received regional and international recognition. She interned at Al Jazeera English’s New Media team throughout her undergraduate years. She then worked in marketing and social media at ictQATAR for two years before moving to Boston where she received an MFA degree in Information Design + Visualization at Northeastern University.
